Welcome to CT. What you are seeing is environmental damage from some sort of chemical. This cent is copper plated so I don’t think you can technically have a lamination issue.

Yes to what Danomite said. I don't think you can get a lam or a delam on a
copper plated zinc cent the way you can on a 95% copper cent.
The copper coating is incredibly thin. And there are always various stages of it missing either accidentally or intentionally.
The zinc cents are a disgrace to humanity and the universe.

Theoretically, zinc cents could have a lamination, but the gas bubble or contamination needed to cause it would have be in the zinc blank before it was plated. If there is separation between the plating and zinc, IMO it would be a plating error, not a lamination.

BTW I agree that the OPs coin is a stain from some sort of environmental damage

Thanks. It definitely makes cents that it is chemical damage. I find it interesting that the copper adjacent to the damaged segment is flakey in a similar way to how a legitimately delaminated coin would be, and so is the difference in detail.

This one may have been outside in the weather for a while. These zinc cents will totally rot away when left outside.

I took some pictures with better quality, hopefully this will shine some more light on the situation. Still appears to be chemical/env damage, though.
