2017 20$ Star Note

Discussion in 'Paper Money' started by ForeverPsalms91&23&35, Apr 7, 2021.

  1. Anyone know what I could possibly get with this low number 2017 20$ star note I found out of a atm? It’s the first 20 star note I found so far for my collection. I have two 1$ star notes that people have paid us with. Which is pretty cool. Thank you for your input coin talk

Nice find, but from a huge run of 3.2M notes. Most $20 modern collectors prefer uncirculated notes.

If the note had four (or more) leading zeroes I'd say you may have had something with it being worth more than $20 as it would have compensated for it coming from a large print run and being in circulated condition. Don't give up, though. Good finds are out there.

As you will learn, condition on currency is everything. Any folds, creases, stains, pin holes, tears, etc, makes most notes mostly uncollectible, unless it is rare or a printing error. There are several web sites on currency that lists answers to most questions and as mentioned above, a low serial number by those that collect them is usually only three or four digits (0001234, 0000XXX would be examples). If you are collecting STAR notes and can afford to keep that note, by all means put it in a sleeve and keep it.
