I got my two sets yesterday, and must say they appear to be of especially low relief. I thought they used special high pressure presses now for the mint sets; the obverses of the quarters are especially low relief, there is hardly any detail in the hair.

According to the Mint..."U.S. Mint uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image." Go figure

Yeah, it figures. I bought two this year so I could break one up to fill out my modern sets instead of trying to find nice examples in circulation (often takes years for the 'D' to show up in the Baltimore area). I only opened one so far, maybe the other one is nicer...

"Greater force........producing a sharp........detailed image" does not suggest that a coin is struck in high relief.

Heck, none of the stuff they produce is high relief anymore. By not doing so the dies last a lot longer........

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

I've been noticing how the relief is a lot lower recently. Could be good for future value, maybe, as there may be fewer examples of MS coins.
