Found this dime while coin roll hunting...." WE TRUST" looks like it was hit twice. 2016.....The very top of the 0, 1 ,6 are very faint. The coin is very shiny, hard to get a really good picture, well, for me anyways with my camera, but I hope you can see the errors good enough.
The mint tends to push dies well past their 'use by' date. As dies are used, they deteriorate. Your dime was struck with one of those dies. It's very normal and not uncommon.
Hey @SmokinJoe , just curious, what do you look for when CRHing dimes, just silver and errors? Or are there other things you check for?
No just asking, I got some dime rolls the other day and they came in clear tubes so I already know there's no silver , I was hoping there was something to look for other than errors and proofs that slipped my mind
Clear tubes....That kinda takes some of the fun away....Or if your in a hurry, maybe not...I sure do not consider myself a coin "expert", but I have been coin roll hunting for a while now...One thing with dimes Mad, is a lot of them are off centered when they are struck....So many that it is not a "error" unless it is off centered by a lot... meaning I believe, if the numbers and letters are effected ....Good Luck!!
