Hello, I bought some uncirculated rolls at my local bank to fill my album and I came across this 2015 in one of those rolls. Probably nothing to it but it has a silver tone on the shield. Just curious is to what it might be or why this type of error? Thanks

Are you sure it was a uncirculated roll?
Never opened at all. Looks like the Copper plating was worn down IMHO

The copper is worn through to the zinc core. Probably with a fine abrasive. PMD (post mint damage) and not a mint error

Came from a Loomis roll. I opened the roll and placed pennies my felt mat to add coins to the album and saw it. This could have been the penny from the top of the roll and the finishing worn down from transportation and handling? That's what it looks like to me as well.

Would the fact that it's a Loomis roll necessarily mean "uncirculated"?

Do you really think Loomis takes the time to sort millions of coins for quality before they roll them?

Yeah I agree. Loomis doesn't sort them, they wouldn't have the time. It appears that this particular coin was at the end of the roll and abrasion of some sort caused the finish to rub off. PMD coin, mystery solved. Admin can you please delete or close this thread? Thank ya'll for the help.

You'll have to request uncirculated USMINT rolls from your bank/CU if they offer them. I have to specifically request uncirculated strapped bills, or uncirculated rolls from mine.

I know it’s probably not but it looks like a dryer coin that just got started before it went to far.
