I have posted this one on a different forum that I got banded from for no reason. They said posting stuff like this made it seem that I was not even trying to learn then I was out, oh well now I am glad to be here with all of you guys and gals! So what do you think of this dang coin? It makes my head hurt and really don't want it if it is nothing.
It looks to me like the Homestead 25c was cut out to put the cent in the middle, like an encased coin. If you look at the date, 2015, the outer ring had to be cut wider to compensate for the larger numerals. Chris
no you guys have it all wrong forget about the last picture that's the quarter under the cent. its the cent that I question only, the quarter has nothing to do with it. lol Just forget about it guys I am spending it.
I think he is just showing how it looks like the design of the quarter is on the penny... which it isn't. Looks like a woody to me.
Exactly! He sees that wood grain and he's thinking it's the wood grain from the Homestead Quarter design. teachmind.. what you have is what is called an Improper Alloy Mix or what error collectors refer to as a Woody because of that wood grain look. I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/improper-alloy-mix/ Here is a good example of a 1982 Woody Cent
