http://doubleddie.com/1542214.html Yours looks like 2015 1¢ WDDO-006 What does the rest of the coin look like?
Nice one. I'd hold onto them. Couldn't hurt. I personally hate the shield design and can't stand looking through solid date rolls. I know a lot of people who like them though. Check over here: http://lincolncentresource.net/forums/
Nice finds!kevin you said that cent came from a new roll? That's crazy that it already has zinc rot.I bet in twenty years those coins will all be back to dust. They must be using low grade cheep materials to mint them.Be careful if you put them in 2by2's the grease on your fingers will make them rot.
Billy b - I don't think that is zinc rot. I see a lot of spots on newer coins like that. I think it has to do with how they rinse them off or something.
As the other gentleman said, that is not rot. It's some sort of grease used by the mint and was a major issue back on the 09s as well.
The box of rolls. Did they have a date on the box or wrappers? What part of the country do you live in? Down in Georgia, the Atlanta area I have not found many 2015 and now 2016 are showing up.
I live in Syracuse New York . No date on box . Went to the bank to.get another box penny today see if can find another 2015 but it was 2016 box. Guess they are out 2015.
-( Too far away. In Georgia. Cannot find new coins or currency at most banks. Most I find at big stores and some times they will let me have some rolls. The same with currency. I collect all the stars and low numbers, as well as miss- printed or miss-cut currency.
