http://mintnewsblog.com/2014/10/2015-2016-american-platinum-eagle-reverse-design-candidates/ Some very interesting design candidates. My personal favorites - 07, 18, 19 (although it has the flavor of Madonna and child), 24, and 28. I think 24 really harkens back to some of the designs of old.
Designs 23,2-6, and 7-8 are fabulous and would put a platinum eagle on my want list. As always neoclassic designs make lovely coin designs. Given the mints recent work however it would not surprise me if none of my preferred designs are chosen
A lot of these are better than the usual uninspired designs that they've been recycling year after year. I like and , though they could perhaps make Liberty's attire a bit more modest and/or ditch the breast implants. and a few of the others around this theme could be good if they removed the Earth. Looks kind of cheesy otherwise. I think this would be a really interesting direction to take the series in, almost more like a medallic design. Doubt it gains any traction though. is wretched, and looks like somebody stole the clip-art graphics from a church newsletter.
I don't know how I missed 08 - very good also. I agree about 10 & 11 - they look like horrible clip-art compilations. I'm not sure if this is appropriate to say, but the children in 10 look as if they are mentally challenged...
^ You're right. It looks like the artist was going for the typical Asian/White/Black ethnic diversity trio, but accidentally ended up with the much rarer Down Syndrome/White/Black diversity combo instead.
I think the first 2 both look like Down Syndrome...only the Black child looks somewhat like the artist intended...
Looks like the CAC has made it's recommendations.... I think I mostly agree with their choices... http://news.coinupdate.com/cfa-ccac-recommend-american-platinum-eagle-reverse-designs-4504/
