Just thought I'd start a thread where we can post our CRH totals for 2014. I will be getting mine sorted shortly.
I don't keep track, but i can estimate: Out of approximately $80,000.00 worth of coins searched (mostly halves, dimes and quarters) -30-40 wheat cents -1,500-2,000 copper cents -1 buffalo nickel -20-30 pre-1950 jefferson nickels -5 35% silver war nickels -10-20 mercury dimes -40-50 silver dimes -2 standing quarters -25-30 silver quarters -about 260 bicentennial quarters in nice enough condition to keep -5 walking liberty half dollars -20-30 franklin half dollars -10-15 1964 kennedy half dollars -120-180 40% half dollars -2 commemorative half dollars -about 20 silver dollars (from bags of Ikes) -1 commemorative silver dollar -1 American Silver Eagle -one Missing edge letters John Tyler $1 coin -about $30 face in canadian coins -about €20 face in EU coins -50-ish other foreign coins -just dumped 286 duplicate NIFC $1 coins and $32.50 in duplicate NIFC halves I've been coin roll hunting since i was 8, but this is the first year I've searched more than $25,000.00
Ok here are my totals for the year: CENTS $6,773 searched $5,863 searched if you don't count solid date boxes - 6 IHCs - 2,427 wheaties - 10.3/box average - Tons of different varieties and errors NICKELS $8,300 searched $6,600 searched if you don't count solid date boxes - 1 "V" Nickel - 31 Buffalo nickels - 36 War nickels - 33 09 P/D's DIMES $44,175 searched 135 silver found - 12 Mercs - 122 Roosies - 1 Panama 90% 1/10 Balboa QUARTERS $1,150 searched - skunk HALVES $24,989 searched 58-90%ers 14xWalkers 11xBens 33xKens 116 40%ers DOLLARS $2,693 searched 5 NIFC TOTAL SEARCHED: $91,080 TOTAL SILVER OZ: 49.9253oz
looks like i had about 73.07 oz. of silver, but 26 oz. of it is in 40% halves. I searched approximately $40,000.00 in halves, and found about 50 90%ers and 180 40%ers. I'd say it was a pretty good year . this year i'll probably have to get a real job though so i won't have as much time to CRH
Not quite $1k at $15/oz...I would have liked to have had more but I was deployed for 1/4 of the year and didn't actually start searching halves until the end of October.
Well there was the WooHoo mega find: Bens - 21 JFK 64 - 47 JFK 65 - 16 JFK 66 - 54 (more than half BU Unc) JFK 67 - 100 JFK 68 - 61 JFK 69 - 12 also an 1987-s WOW!!! odds and ends Mexico 10 peso, Philipinas 5 piso, Woodrow Willson $1, thrashed quarter, 2 dimes, one very thrashed cent, a Disneyland token. then all the others: Large Dollar - 1 Morgan, 5 minor keeper Ikes Small dollars - 3 SBA 1979 wide rim, 3 proofs, 8 NIFC Halves - 16 90%, 83 40%, over 100 NIFC, 5 commemoratives, 3 1974-D ddo, and 11 Canadian "toonies" 2 dollar coins included here because they came in half dollar bags. Dimes - One Rosey given me as change Nickles and cents - I don't keep count of these, I just roll them up and toss them in a box. Lots of low value wheat, 09, and such, (but keepers none the less). A nice hand full of foreign.
Just updated my totals for 2014 and here's what I came up with: Cents: - $1,055.00 searched - $234.46 (face) in 1960-82 coppers - $2.16 in 59 coppers (P & D) - $6.04 wheats (all years and mints) - $.02 IHC Nickels: - $2,440 (48,800 coins) searched - $3.80 (76) war nickels - $16.95 (339) 1950-59 - $12.10 (242) 1940-49 - non-silver - $2.35 (47) 1930-39 - $.15 (3) 1920-29 - 32 random foreign coins Dimes: - $2,725 (27,225 coins) searched - $1.00 silver (Roosevelt / Mercury) Half Dollars: - $132.50 (265 coins) searched - $2.00 silver (2x 90%, 2x 40%)
$1500 halves searched. 7-%40 2-proofs 2-errors 13-NIFC 2014 was as bad or worse than 2013 for me, so that's that.
