I posted this in an unrelated thread on here, but it may have gotten lost in there. Does your 2014 Silver Eagle have this doubling inside the A in Dollar on the reverse? Maybe it's just supposed to be the way it is, but stock photos aren't really clear and I don't have another 2014 ASE. Photo is taken through an air-tite, and the scratch is just on the air-tite. Thanks in advance.

If you only have the one 2014 ASE, then you'll have to go out and buy some more for comparison. Research can be quite expensive.

    Now, is this a generic 2014 or a 2014-W?

    Generic.

By the way 19Lyds, the "doubling" on the inside of that A and nowhere else is part of what's confusing to me, per the other thread on MD. I know there are other processes and effects occurring, but it's just strange to me. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it and it'll become clearer after learning more about it.

A snap of my generic 2014 Eagle. The A looks pretty similar to me.

It's also possible that this was part of the script design change that came about in 2008. Does anyone remember the 2007-W "U Reverse" on the 2008-W coin? The script of the 2008-W changed. The "A" went from a large central space to a small central space. It could be possible that the triangular column was tapered on the lower side of the die rather than straight up-and-down to give an appearance of depth of view.

The doubling on the inside of the A could be "normal" then.

Also, the apex of the inside of the A is rounded and I think it also has doubling.
