    Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and appreciate all the knowledge shared by members. I have a quick question that will probably be easy for most of you. I noticed on a 2013 D Great Basin Nevada quarter, that the printing on the reverse looks like it is depressed into the coin rather than the print being raised. Is this a new thing? I don't have the opportunity to check a lot of coins for comparison, so I am asking the experts.

    Thanks

The printing you refer to is called "Incused" in coin collecting. It was used on some early 20th century gold coins, as well as some commemorative coins.
