Hey guys. The history nut in me requires that I purchase this set. Yeah, I know, I'm taking a hosing on the price, but the set does include a bronze medal. Praise the Lord that the mint didn't decide to plate it in silver like they did with the Westward Journey nickle sets back in '04-'05 (?). Man, oh man, those medals were awful.
I'm a sucker for these mint offerings Duke. 'Coin and Chronicles sets' slay me. Worth 'horse pucky' in the aftermarket but I truly enjoy them. And what's that saying? If I ain't payin' a lot I ain't a collector?
I bought one. I didn't think the price was bad at all. If you buy the individual UNC dollar and half it'll set you back $76.90. These are a couple bucks less plus you get a free medal to boot. I didn't buy any of the general commems yet this year, I was holding back to see if the mint did a special set and what would be included. I'm glad I waited. Now I'll have all 5 generals and I won't have to dig deep for a gold MacArthur.
Just an update for "all" the people that bought the set. The original ship on this was 9/27. Just checked a bit ago and it shows in stock and reserved with no cancel box. We're getting them sooner than expected.
