2011 washington/america the beautiful quarter obv.die clashed

    I just found last week,was wondering has of the new quarter series america the beautiful,hav been found yet with major die clash like this one:yes:Would it be a first discovery coin,is worth it to certify it???

    what exactly is "die clash"?

    That just looks like crash marks from normal circularation

    I think he is probably right about it being a die clash, but die clashes happen all the time and are very common. The clash is no reason to have the coin slabbed.

    If the dies come together without a planchet between them they can hit each other (clash) and they will tend to transfer part of their designs onto each other. (Usually in the fields, much more rarely in the devices.) Coins struck after the dies clashed with show these traces of the design from the other side. These traces are called clash marks.
