that's a crazy amount for a bid

according to the mints production -
they have already made 134 million just in January alone

 

Happens every year.

 

These are rare in roll form.....so I am not surprised these are twice as expensive....stack up on these,as an in 5 years, these won't be around, IMHO....

 

What's funny is that at the bottom of the page, where eBay now suggests other auctions of the same subject, there are BINs of 39 bux for the exact same box!!!!

 

All of these Cents arrive at the banks in the exact same roll form. You can buy them by the $25 box day in and day out. You can still find wheats in original roll form. What makes you think that a year minted in the trillions won't still be around for a long time in roll form?

 

The only reason these will be worth that much more than face is if an error is discovered. TC

Pretty crazy, it looks like time to go to the banc and buy a box (to resell).

 

I'll never understand the need to be the first to own what will become commonplace in a few weeks/months.

Isn't this Cent Type supposed to run for 49-50 years or so?

 

Well after all 2011 is going to be the last year for 2011. I don't think that's what the seller means, probably just a strategy to get bids.

 

And.... If you believe what some say, " The world is going to end in 2012 " , so you better stock up on these boxes of cents!!!

 

actually, the one for $39.99 is a box of 2010s. There is a BIN 2011 box for $109.99 but I digress...

I think the seller is trying to get to the uninformed and say OMG buy these because they are going to be worth a butt load in years to follow!!! Maybe he's trying to gain more attention in hoping to make a fast buck

Billions of 2011 cents will be produced, paying 4x+ over face is plain dumb. By the middle of the year you'll be able to get rolls and boxes at most banks.
