I just received an e-mail from the US Mint stating the my subscription for 2011 proofs will be processed in approximately 4 weeks. We'll see.......
Maybe they will be released early this year? Maybe, for the first time since who knows how long ago, the Mint will be ahead of schedule.
I heard that they were releasing a few annual coin sets earlier than usual next year. This sounds like a good sign. I just hope they stop selling the 2010 sets when they release the 2011. TC
I heard on the coin radio show that the mint plans to release all of the proof sets early in the year. It would be nice to get reduced shipping costs without the risk of getting hand-me-down sets.
This is old news gang, but most of you heard right... From the US Mint Pressroom on 9/13/2010: UNITED STATES MINT TO OFFER ANNUAL PRODUCTS IN JANUARY 2011 January Offering is First in at Least Decade
Yeah, but Chris, did you really think it was gonna happen? Especially with all the brouhaha going on with the silver disks. Reverend Moy has been known to change his tune from time to time.......
Yes, I do expect them to keep their word when they issue a press release, especially given the nature of this one, boasting of 'listening to customers' and releasing in January, something not done in a decade. IF they fail on those two fronts they might as well shutter the Mint and tender only their resignations.
I didn't want to start a new thread; so I thought I'd just leach onto this one... I just received my 2011 Silver Proof AtB quarters, and WOW; they really knocked it out of the park with all 5 designs in 2011. They're simply amazing. Last year's designs were ok, but I really enjoy the 2011. Anyone else like 2011's better than the 2010's? -LTB
