I got a mint set and the 2011 P Lincoln Cent has damage on the obverse. It is still in its original mint packaging. Is there any error that you know like this or do you know what caused it? Is it valuable?

This is post strike damage, i.e. looks like it skidded across a concrete floor or rough surface. It's a scuff mark.

I find it cool, since the scratches are straight and it is still in the mint packaging

I dont think its a scuff mark or lincoln would have been affected along with more of the word liberty instead of just the I

The problem I see with it being skidded across a floor is that the majority of the scratches are field of the coin and not on Lincoln's relief, which doesn't make sense because the head would get in the way for that much of the flat part of the coin to be skidded on the ground.

Planchet problem. Rough surface from worn rollers. If you blow up the pictures you can see the lines go all the way across the coin but most of them on the right and on the bust have been wiped out by the strike. I would also suspect that the die faces are not quite parallel and the strike is stronger on the right side of the coin than on the left.

Pretty cool looking as it is still in the packaging...
