    Hi guys,

I have this 2011 D Roosevelt Dime and see that the Obverse is a Satin Finish and the Reverse is a Clad finish. I have posted comparison photo's of the 2011 D (on left) and 2011 P (on right) to show the tones. I read some of the dimes were finished with a Satin finish from 2005 til 2010. Could this 2011 D be an error?

    No

One is from Philly, and one is from Denver

That's why these specific coins look a little diff.

this happens if you leave a coin sitting on a windowsill or anywhere really, for a while heads up and just leave it there, the top will collect dirt and dust and tone from the air in the room, the bottom that's laying down and undisturbed will remain protected.

there is a difference between the strike in the two different mints, But the "satin" or patina on one side is caused by this situation where a coin is left laying out and sits undisturbed for a while.
