The letters on the edge of the coin appear to be double stamped if viewed at from an angle. Anyone else heard or seen this? This isnt the stars but the rather the letters. Sorry cannot post an image with enough detail to show the possible error. Was curious. Thank you.

Double letters are a possibility. We would have to see pictures.

In my quick searches I see 0 listings in NGC for any Andrew Johnson doubling. PCGS has 1 record and that is for a Philly coin not Denver.

Unfortunately without pictures, it is unlikely anymore help can really be given. It's either quite rare (I don't mean high dollars) or worth $1.

Do you own a magnifying glass or a jeweler's loupe? If you do, put it in front of your camera's phone and get some good lighting. The photo will be pretty easy then.

I have found a coin similar to this one. It has overlapping letters. I can't find anything about it on Google. Has anyone located information on this coin?
