Do you guys have a date when 2011 coinage will turn up at the banks?
I think 2011 is going to be a good year in coinage, except for maybe the Presidential dollars, and ATB Quarters!
I'm hoping for a very low mintage of cents, nickels, dimes, and halfs...

Any speculators want to chime in, cause I'm all years ;)

Well, the Mint made way to many State Quarters.

As far as I know they haven't minted any circulation coins for 2011 yet. But, even "low" numbers will still amount to tens of billions, so they won't appreciate anytime this millennium I'm afraid.

Oh, they're minted... just not released yet. I think the first 2010's started turning up in late Jan to early Feb last year?

As a roll searcher, I'm hoping to hit paydirt with a box of 2011's early on.

Me too, but hopefully I'll still be able to find a box of something with 2011 rolls in it in March or April since that's when I'll be searching again...one more semester:/

When the banks run out and need to place orders for more coins. There's no guarantee known date when the 2011s will show up in the orders they receive. The coins have already begun being minted and continue being minted for the year ahead.

Business strikes are not really something we think of in terms of low mintage.

    ;)

I'll probably go after boxes of 2011 circ pennies, dimes, nickels, and half's. Of coarse the over priced uncirc rolls from the mint to finish it up.
Our bank is more a small town bank, so they always have time to answer questions, feed the coin counter and anti-up boxes of old pennies. Next time I'm over there I'm going to through it out there to see if they can order 2011 stuff for summer.
The people at my bank are over the numis thing, cause I didn't even need to ask that my roll be a heads/tails...'Hey Mary we need a roll of head/tail Abe's for the gentleman sitting over there'. LOL

True, but the huge mintages and economic down turn are the reason why the Territories and the ATB quarters have such much lower mintages. Frankly I think they are still overproducing the ATB quarters compared to actual need simply because they don't want to accidentally make a true low mintage item.

Last year I got the 2010 Cents around January 10th from some guy in Puerto Rico of eBay, and they came around the January 15th. I just emailed him and asked if he'll be getting the 2011 cents soon but he said that he isn't sure.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you spend a premium for the cents from Puerto Rico, when a couple weeks later you could get them at the bank for face. Just askin....

Because he gets them early and can then flip them for silly money to the people on eBay who want them NOW!!
