After the year 2019, do you think by hoarding bags of teen shield pennies and selling it in the future will make you some type of profit like the wheat bags dated 09-19? Will it sell by 5,6,or even 7 cents a piece like the wheats, and is worth hoarding them?

I don't know what the mintage numbers are for the shield cents thus far, but I'd be willing to bet they were high.

*Supply and demand is the key here.*

Some of the teen wheats had low mintage numbers and obviously low quantities of those dates "survived" at the mint-state levels.

Today's situation is much different, as we have higher mintages and more/better ways to preserve coins. People in the numismatic world are better educated now than 100 years ago, so most likely we will see more coins of this era survive in the MS grades.

With all this in mind, I'd say there is no benefit to hoarding them. (But if someone could provide me with numbers showing otherwise, I'd be open to changing my opinion)

    Mintages:
    2010P: 1,963,630,000
    2010D: 2,407,200,000
    2011P: 2,402,400,000
    2011D: 2,536,140,000
    2012P: 3,132,000,000
    2012D: 2,883,200,000
    2013 - I dunno but I'm sure it's a lot

    Short answer: No.
Also - they are ugly IMO :)

In the year 2114 maybe there will be eBay auctions for unsearched rolls of shield cents, with a 2012 Roosevelt on the end.

Assuming you held a bag of $50 for 100 years, and assuming the inflation rate stayed constant, you would have to get $933 or 18 cents per coin just to break even with inflation.
