2010 Oregon Quarter

    Saw this doubling hunting through a roll, and was hoping to get opinions. Afaik doubling in the edge lettering (in this case OREGON and EPU) is usually machine damage but I can't find anything mentioning the date, and this is only on the date (offset just underneath the original date). There are 3 pictures of the date, all are from slightly different angles and lighting to illustrate what I'm seeing.

    Check out "incuse mechanical doubling". That's what you are seeing.

    It's no big deal, but just so you know, the perimeter lettering is called the "legend".

    Thank you! I'm still trying to learn the lingo of coins as well lol there's a lot here to learn.
