Here’s a very rare doubled die. I know of one more, as another collector I know has it and in a better grade.

See, this is why I don't even bother looking for them. I can't see anything doubled on your photos.

The doubling on shield cents isn’t the doubling ur thinking of used to seeing.
The doubling is the extra thickness seen in liberty upper left of y is thicker then upper right. Date is distorted as well extra thickness on the top of the 2s curve. Etc
Compared to a normal 2010d this is very different idk if you can see the differences I’m talking about . Lol yea it is different

Yea class 9 doubled dies are different then what I believe u and mountain men think of when the term doubled die is mentioned which would be the class 1’s that come to mind right away

So, a doubled die shield cent has the same characteristics as a worn die? Widened devices that allow for wide lettering. Okay, I'll pass.

Not even close to characteristics of a worn die.
Class 9 is tilted during the process of the dies. Here’s something from coneca “Depending on the design used, the hub may sit on a precise spot at first contact. As pressure is exerted, the back of the hub will rock or jolt into its proper position creating doubling on the die face.” single squeeze
And there are two types of doubling jolted and roly poly. Roly poly is seen the most on shield cents which is the offset distortion extra thickness. Wobbling can occur and that’s what accounts for notched corners and separation lines like seen on this 2015 doubled die here wddo-006.

Thanks for the education, but incase you don't know, I hate the Zincoln cents, and don't want to encourage them, so won't even bother looking at them.

fair enough and I didn’t know that haha

give them 50 years and some of the doubled dies will be heavily sought after as some right now in the niche community

that’s like me with memorials I’ll only look for the “key date” doubled dies, rpms

A very Rare Variety. Sounds like an oxy-moron to me.
When it comes to doubled-die coins, if you can't see it with the naked eye I don't think it will ever break out of that "Niche" and be heavily sought after. JMO.

For sure I can see that. Also I feel that’s a opinion based form the old days of collecting per say when doubled dies were more extreme ofc.
This is just the new age of doubling in time they’ll grow and be sought after but who knows thatll be years and years away.
Yea seeing it with the naked eye sure is more eye appealing then having to take out a scope etc it’s much more work

@Gorham_Collector The top leading edge of the MM shows a definite step, which is not clearly shown nor described in Coppercoins or Wexler; maybe you should submit it for attribution and listing as either another die state or variation.
