Did the Mint made some variety in Presidential Dollar with the color of Dimes, Nickels and Quarters? This one, has all the dimensions OK and also the weight is 8.05 GRMS. But White like Nickels and dimes. Thank for your opinion.
In my opinion it's just regular but all the luster has been taken off from wear not worth more than a dollar
Morgan9. The bright yellow is only the reflection of the light when the pictures were taken. But the luster is there in the coin. Maybe to much luster. The real color is silver all over (I said white, but in reality is silver, like nickels, dimes o quarters.
It's possible this coin came out of a mint set and has a 'satin' finish which might explain the softer, more subdued, white appearance.
Jim. From the beginning I had the though of SILVER PLATED DOLLAR. Another detail is that: It's a little magnetic. That was the reason I took some pictures in the Edge lettering. Thinking. May be if some body plate a coin the lettering disappear. This one I found in a Bank Roll of used dollars.
You guys are probably right. I just picked out a few of my 'satin' presidentials and though the luster is muted and subdued a bit, none of them approach whiteness in color......... Never mind..........
I don't know how much. Some one pay for a coin to be plated. But this one look pretty to me. From today I'll carry this dollar everywhere like my GOOD LUCK COIN. Thank a lot for your opinion.
Not too much. You can usually pick individual ones up for a couple of bucks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Adams-...39?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item51b508f603 If you like it though, it makes for a good pocket piece.
