Still no price on the US Mint page. I know there has been some controversy over the spouses not being lowered. Does anybody think they are just holding out and hoping for a higher average, which would mean a higher price. OR dare I say it....maybe postponing sales?

Have they ever done anything like this?

My opinion is that the US Mint anticipated higher gold bullion prices for the week ahead when they did not lower the spouse issue price. Since the weekly average had been so close to the next increment in price they decided to leave it high. Truly, they have a monopoly on these things and can pretty well do what they want.

    Who is saying?

The only thing mentioned about 2010 Gold Buffalos on the Mint's website is they go on sale June 3rd, 2010 at 12 noon.

The 2010-W AGB doesn't really have to display the sale price on the US Mint website until it is available for sale and today is only the 2nd of June. Plus the Mint tends to reprice gold products on Wednesday or Thursday so it will probably not be shown and updated until the online catalog page is updated to on-sale status tomorrow:

The US Mint to release 2010 AGB on June 3rd

The coin's pricing should be done according to the published United States Mint Coin Pricing Grid [pdf] however following the Mint's refusal to adjust the price of FS coins last week it leaves that totally up in the air since policy is only applied at the US Mint when it suits their profit margin:

On 5/12/2010, CT member elaine 1970 suggested we might see this price based on the coin pricing grid at that point in time:

Well, made a purchase today. It was fairly painless. Took about 3 minutes.

Just a tad too expensive for me right now. I remember just a few years ago when I bought the proof for around $800. I will be getting one of these.....just after I sell off my entire commemorative collection.

2009-W Proof AGBs were $1,360 less than a year ago when they went on sale, October 22 2009... They ended at $1,410 when the Mint announced they sold out on March 29, 2010... now they are starting out at $1,510, ouch! Current gold ask price $1,209 as of this writing.
