I got caught up in the hype and bought at the release time. I purchased six proofs. The more I have thought about it, these coins aren't very appealing. Well, I mean the obverse isn't very appealing. The reverse is very nice!

The political correct thing annoys me, and I think it annoys a lot of people. I'm willing to bet that is why it hasn't sold out yet...

I wish they did something like the post office did with thier scouting stamp. If they had done that, these would have sold out already...

My advice.... Buy them if you like them. I wouldn't expect much appreciation on these as an investment....

Never had any interest in buying the scout coin. Most mint stuff bores me. Im happy with my Lincoln Chronicles set from them, thats enough for now.

I think that they will have roughly the same amount of demand for these as the 2010 Disabled Veterans Commemorative Coin.

I think they will pass the Vet coins on Tuesday when the minatge comes out or will be sold out. All scouts know the coin is available and how many parents grandparents will purchase for past, current, or future eagle scouts?

  10. I went to a coin show today (arriving the minute it opened) and there was one dealer who had one BSA proof. It was sold in a matter of minutes. Did not hear the price but trust me there was no time for haggling. TC

Do you think the proofs or the unc will be more profitable?

I think it will have similar pricing as the Buffalo Dollar.

They are making less mint sets then proofs so i would think
In the future they would be worth more! :)

My feeling is a lot of non-collectors will buy the proof. Shinny catches their eye...:)

It usually seems that the proofs sell twice as fast as the unc.
