2009D LC pmd or what could of caused this?

    Very cool. It looks like excess metal squeezed out at the corner of the window also where it goes through the ends of the logs the coloring is consistent with the logs. IMHO I'm going to say it's a very early die crack. I am an amateur and I'm sure others much more knowledgeable than me will weigh in. I'll be interested in seeing what they say.

    Looks like damage to me,a deep long scratch.

    this is a zinc coin isn't it? if that were a scratch you would be seeing the zinc. Maybe a struck through error?

    How do you fut a scratch that big in a zincoln without exposing the zinc?

    Could be a case of struck through. But could be damage. I can’t make out a berm on the edges. A closer shot could help. Using my phone I’m limited.

    It looks like the downspout was mangled in a storm.

    I agree with your statement,it should've at least left a trail of the exposed zinc core. Didn't even consider that originally(my morning brain)It could be a strike through but better pictures would help.
