Due to low mintages of dimes and nickels in 2009, is it realistic that these may bring some premium value in the future? I'm not finding many of them in coin rolls, particularly the nickels, or in pocket change. Should they be accumulated and is anyone paying more than face value for them now?

I keep them when I find them. I don't believe they carry much of a premium in circulated condition now (back in 2009 you could get a huge premium, especially for entire rolls) but in 10, 20, 50 years.... who knows? Keeping a roll or two tucked away in the sock drawer can't hurt.

They are not easy to come by but they are far from rare. There are millions upon millions of them and I think their story will parallel that of the 1950-D nickel in that they will command a premium for some years after their release, but when they eventually all surface there will be plenty to satisfy demand and because they had all been hoarded almost every one of them will be in high grade
