I found this 2009-P lincoln cent first in MN while looking through bank rolls, about a year later I found another one in AZ bank rolls. Is it a "cud"? Are there others out there?
Die chip. A cud is a die break that includes the rim. http://coins.about.com/od/coinsglossary/g/cud_defined.htm
I have six of the LP3's that all have roughly the same interior die break. All around the last three windows. So yes, there are probably more like yours out there.
Those are discovery pieces, pocorojo. Nothing to attribute them on coppercoins.com or in the Cherrypickers Guide. You have a new variety in your hands, my friend.
CONECA is the best. You may want to visit coneca.com or check this link for attribution services: http://www.conecaonline.org/attribution_services.html. Hope this helps. -Coinmaster1. IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE EFFORT AND FIVE DOLLAR CONECA CHARGE.
...That happens to be a discovery piece. Even something that small is special. I mean, what are the odds of the same person finding the same exact error one year apart that only he has heard of? Pretty cool, in my opinion.
I found seven. In one day. I'll send you one if you like. And yeah, even the small tings are special. And the fact he found them one year apart does have the odds against it.
Sent you a PM. Thank you very much for offering. I might send it to CONECA along with a link to this thread to possibly have it attributed, because if you found 7 in one day and pocorojo found 2 already, think about how many more are out there from that die! Pretty cool, huh?
As they may not be varieties, and it may not be worth it to have it looked over, I will have a cent checked over by CONECA no matter what. I will email James Wiles (the attributer) soon.
