They made around 40 million of each so they shouldn't be "great rarities", but I've never seen one "in the wild".

I see 2009D's for sale on eBay for around $15-20 per roll, but I rarely see the 2009P's. I grabbed up few rolls off eBay when they first came out...just to say I had some.

A while back, I started a thread that suggested the possibility that the FED stopped releasing the 2009 P/D nickels for fear of hoarding.

Given that scenario, and the likelihood that the Cent and Nickel will (sooner rather than later) be withdrawn from circulation, it seems "reasonable" that Congress would order a halt to any further Nickel and Cent distributions and begin "The Great Nickel/Cent Reclamation".

Under that scenario (as unlikely as it may seem), it could be possible for these dates to become rarities.

The banks in my area have Coinstar machines and don't order new coins (or say they don't, anyway). :(

I checked completed items on eBay for rolls (link) and found one seller sold 2 mint wrapped rolls for one money at $49.95 shipped and another sold 1 roll of the same for $61.10 and another lot he had got $45.00 shipped. Another seller sold a roll for $65.00 shipped.

There are some sellers who are pretty tricky :rollling: using blue and white bank wrappers and state the roll is circulated and getting $20.00 or so bucks anyway so be careful to read the listings closely if you go this route.

Yeah, a little high on eBay, although the 2 rolls for $49 isn’t bad. More than that, since the mintage is real close to the D, which sells for under $20, is too much. I don’t know if these have much more potential than that long term, since the mintages, although compared to a normal years are low, are still high. Haven’t they been coming down since the initial frenzy?

I think high grade singles , like MS67 with full steps are the only ones worth hanging on to. The quality of single BU's I have seen are quite "nicky" and "baggy". I bought a couple rolls and kept the best 10 singles out of the lot. I was lucky to get maybe 5 dandy real keepers out of the batch I got.
I did not pay this kind of money tho.

I keep an eye on them on ebay. The prices have been strong lately. I believe the supply of uncirculated rolls (on ebay) has decreased. You'll do well either way (if you sell them or hang on to them).
