Is this the beginning of a release of 2009 dimes? I politely asked the lady at the check-out line if I could have some of those shiny 2009 dimes. She said sure! She gave me seven in change and when I asked her for a roll I got that also. Does this mean the 2009's are being released again??? FYI, I'm in the Washington D.C. area.
Does the mint re-mint new dimes with the 2009 on them or hold 2009 dimes and just release them as needed?
You have got to love the lunch lady. I got 2 2009 P dimes last July in change from Walmart but have not seen any since that time. Congrats on the find. TC
We know that the US Mint makes coins prior to the date on the coin, and that somehow it has been incorporated into the law, however, they are not allowed to make more after that year has passed.

I remember her saying they got a whole box of them, but I thought it would be rude asking her for a second roll, let alone the remainder of the box :desk:
