This same problem was presented to me as well at my local bank. I went down there to purchase some Lincoln rolls and my banker gave me those very three options. Of course I chose Head to Tail rolls first, but she had only so many of those, so next I chose Tail to Tail. This way, you will be able to verify which one it was in the series. Of course now, you wont be able to determine if it is a P or a D. You just got to take the lesser of the two evils.

When I received the 1st Lincoln Cent from Mintproducts.com, both rolls were head to head. They do have a sticker on them telling you what they are and the mint. I was disappointed , but I am happy I was able to get them.

I would have liked to get head to tail.
