The fourth 2009 Lincoln cent is supposed to be released in a ceremony on Nov 12. Does anyone know where it will be? (As I work in DC, just 5-6 blocks from the Capitol, and since the reverse features the Capitol . . . I'm hoping I can just walk over and pick up some rolls) So, does anyone know where it will be?
Yeah . . . **if** it's in DC. (It's hard to imagine it won't be . . . but I'd like a confirmation of that! . . . thus, the thread)
Hey, maybe I could meet you there. In any event, I'll post a "call up" about a week before the event, see who here might be going. (There's a limit of 10 rolls per person . . . I'll do my best to drag my wife along ;-) )
This info for another thread. It's on the first page of the on line edition of Apr 6th Coin World. I had the wrong date. It's released date is May 14th. It will be released at the Lincoln Amphitheater in Lincoln State Park, Lincoln City, IN. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_City,_Indiana
Seems to me that the logical place for the fourth cent to be released in Nov. would be at the Lincoln Memorial. What do you think?
Well . . . . I would say certainly either that, or -- since the Mem design is history and the fourth cent depicts the Capitol -- I'd lean towards the Capitol -- which is just two miles away, on the other end of the National Mall.
