    2009-D Harrison Presidential Coins... Thoughts?

We have finally started coin roll searching. After going through a bunch of uncirculated presidential $1's today, I noticed that one set of our 2009-D's are almost all odd (Harrison). They share similar characteristics, but seem slightly different from each other:

Edge has a different, rough look..almost like paintbrush scrapes around the entire edge.
Stars on edge look different, almost like there is a star inside of the other star
Each has at least one very long cud (?) that is on the edge and the rim going onto the reverse..others have multiples
I'm also noticing die gouges on similar locations... (Ex Liberty's cheek)
    Lots of small chippy areas

Some letters appear to have extra metal or doubling. I am still not sure how to tell the difference. More pics coming:

I will withhold my opinions until you post pics.

    More pics coming!

This pic shows exactly how most of the edges are..They have this paintbrush/textured look going around the edge & the stars look different.

I'm going to try to get pics of some of the letters next. I noticed that some appear "split" while others appear doubled. Is this mechanical doubling or hub doubling?

I don't see any cuds. A cud is formed when the edge of a die breaks away and the metal is squeezed up into the void when the planchet is struck. What I have seen in a couple of photos appears to be bits of sheared metal from the blanking process that was later flattened when the dies struck the coin.

    Thanks for the information.

Here's a pic of the odd stars that most have and some of the random markings on the edge.
