I think ive decided to begin my collection with $1 bills, since they are easy to get on a budget. I found this one today, and looked up that high serial number bills are not common. Would this be considered a high number?

Have you tried to determine how many have been reported printed of this series and branch? Money Factory has some basic information online for annual and monthly production, but not readily sorted by branch. [link]

To me it's not high, what with a potential 10 million plus more. I also don't seek nor go out of my way to pay more for a so-called "fancy SN" and high numbers alone are not interesting to me in terms of fancy SNs. Also the condition of your note is going to negatively effect value, where such fancy SNs seen on sites like coolserialnumbers.com tend to be Gem and command that premium.
