I just purchased it today. It is helpful. I suggest if you are new to coin collecting, that you purchase it.
I agree (even if you're not new to collecting, it's a useful reference. Getting it ever year or every other year will also help you track general price trends). Only downside I saw is the mention of the silver presidential dollars, which do not exist... other than that very informative. The main additions are mentions of the presidential dollars, gold buffaloes, gold first lady coins, and the 2006 commemoratives as well as the Jamestown commemorative (no mention of the Desegregation commemorative yet, or the fractional gold buffaloes which may be released this year.)
I too get one every year. USED to be a great book for coins. Then a few editions back the book became lettered with errors. The 2006 edtion was so bad I sent a letter of complaint to Whitman. Very few corrections in the 2007 edtion and some new ones. I too just purchased the 2008 which is about a year to soon. Figuring the printing started at lest several months ago, which means they were puttingit together in 2006 for 2007 and is called 2008. NUTS.
