2008 W - ASE 2 reverses error

Yes..I read this article and immediately checked my 2 coins...looks as though they are the 2008 variety...oh well! Good l;uck to the rest of you!

Nice! We searched through a hundred plus at work and found 2. One went to ebay and the other to NGC

Wish I had pics but it is VERY noticeable to the naked eye.

 

Does anybody know if the 2008 with 2007 reverse variety also exists for the proof strike, or the uncirculated business strike?

 

unc only with thewest mark not the common bullion as far as i know

 

How many with the W mintmark are actually minted, or rather how many are expected to be minted this year?

I've searched the net but cannot find anything.

Out of pure curiosity and imagining reading a coin book in the future expecting to read in the 2008 eagle section 'Look out for the 2007 reverse variety'; I have picked up one of these coins.


I didn't go for a graded one as I like the idea of having it be in the original government packaging and having it be wrong in a way.

 

i got one today the 2008 variety just bad luck

 

look at the prices on ebay man people are paying upto 300$ for this coin

 

I have read somewhere that the mint reported as many as 45,000 of these coins may have been released. It will be interesting to see what the PCGS coins go for when they are released.

yes you are right. and no the mint usually doesnt drop prices

 

Wow! And I read that a proof with 2007 images havent been reported as of yet.
