I was just checking my proof set for abnormalities... Has anyone else found that there is an error of sorts on your reverse? Between the R & I in America, there is a portion of metal smudged up, which offsets a small portion that is lower than the rest of the reverse metal. On my coin, it looks like a very small spot where it looks like the metal "smudged"... I would take a picture, but I can;t find a good way to take pics of coins, despite all my camera gear! How frustrating not to have a macro lens.

In any case, have there been any reports on this anywhere? If it were the planchet, and not the die, I don't think this error could be possible, because some up the metal smudged up and would have mosre than likely been flattened by the die strike. If it is a die error, I would expect others to have reported this on their coins...

I'll try taking pictures soon, but I really have had no good luck yet...

    Thanks,
    Dan

With out a pic I am not sure what type of error you have, but you can try this site and see if you can determine what type it is; www.lincolncentsoure.com. And if you can get a pic sent it and I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you what it is.
