If you can't tell I still have very little clue what I'm doing....But by golly I sure am having fun and you wouldn't believe the money I'm saving....OOP'S "COLLECTING" I still can't spend any...LOL
The photo is very blurry, but I'm inclined to think it is PMD. It looks like the metal was gouged off from left to right. A better close-up would help. Chris
By a close-up, I mean the area between the "T" & "C" only. Do you use a tripod or copy stand to stabilize your camera? Chris
Bonnie-While you are looking for doubled dies, try also looking for other minor errors, it will take the stress out of trying so hard. For instance on the Jefferson Nickel you posted above, look at the word Liberty and see if you can find any die chips (filled letters or numerals at the date). The same goes for any coin. I have fun with this, save the best and them sell them as a grouping on ebay. It helps to fund my collection. All coin series have minor errors and most folks toss them aside because they are not listed as a major variety. They help break up the boredom of looking for something major. You are doing a fine job though.
