Because I am a penny roll searcher when I go to the bank I would normally ask for boxes of
re-rolled pennies. As I live in Milwaukee the majority of my pennies are from Denver.

Well this time I asked for a few boxes of pennies (did not ask for re-rolls) When I got home
from the bank I found that one was a whole box of 2008 P,s. As I thought about it and did some
research I found that The 2008 P cents were the lowest mintage business strike cents since
1971 P and D. I am of course not talking about the 2009 Lincolns. I feel that to put these away
might be of some benefit to my pocketbook down the road. anybody agree, Disagree or think i,m
    wasting my $25.00 Dollars...

  3. I would not save them and do not see any big premium down the road. It is the last year of the LMC zincolns and even though the relative mintage is low, there are still plenty to go around. JMO though. :smile TC

Well, hard to say but most old cents are not worth that much. Could be in 50 years they'll be worth $10 a piece but who knows what $10 will buy you at that time. Not sure it's really worth your time because MS-64 1972 pennies with about the same mintage are not even worth a buck a piece.

Not worth it -- search the whole lot for varieties/errors! :thumb:

I can think of better ways to invest that $25.
If you are a fanatic, cherry pick the rolls and save a roll or two of the best examples and spend the rest on silver.

keep 4 rolls, just for the heck of it. What's 2 bucks? If they increase in price great. If not, no big deal.

Well, I wouldn't save a lot of them, but there's no real risk. They will retain their face value if they gain no other value. So, in essence, the worst that could happen would be that you save $25 for a rainy day.

I like the idea of keeping 4 rolls. But what they will be worth in 10 years is anybody's guess, and more often than not, ... not that much. Note that 2010 and 2011 were both lower mintage. Who knows what they may be worth once they stop making 1c. and who knows when that will be.
You may find some buyers on ebay at $1.50 + shipping. Give it a try. They will probably want rolls with one end heads and the other end tales. Should be about half the rolls like that. I know I held some rolls from 2011 because my first granddaughter was born last year. Put 2 rolls away for her. Lots of grand parents with g'kids born in 2008. Or who knows what the reason. Maybe a couple folks will bite?

I'd probably put them away just in case there is some as of yet undiscovered 2008P error (at which point I would have a bunch of unc's to look through). As far as investment value for thier own sake, I wouldn't expect much.

I think I will sit on them. Thanks for all your usefulAnswers but to me its only 25.00 dollars. I will throw theWhole box in a seal a meal bag pull the air out and storeit in the back of my closet with my many other rolls.
