This coin does have a bit of rot going on here but help me out on this MM. Maybe my eyes and brain are playing tricks on me but there appears to be a letter just S of the D that resembles a 3 and farther S in the vest another letter with what looks like an S just NE of that. Probably just looking to hard here but it's interesting at best !
@Newbie69 if I'm understanding your post right how could there be 3 (S) on your coin, I know you been around for awhile where in the minting process could this happen. Sometimes as you stated we see things that aren't there I do agree as far as the zinc rot all I can see on your coin is PMD. Lol my apologies if I miss read your post. Dave
Well it can't be an RPM because in 2008 Mint Marks were no longer hand punched into the Die... It's a simple plating issue that makes you think there is something else there. No S nor a 3 Plating bubble.
Crap you guys are rite, I screwed up here! I forgot the mint marks were no longer hand punched after 88 I believe it was. Wish I could delete this one. This is what happens when I don't think it through before hitting the create thread tab!!!! Well off too work I go. Have a great day guys !!
