Found a 2008 D JM $1 coin. Wondering if it is a WDDR-001? Arrow indicates area in question as described on Wexler's site: Wexler's site demonstrating the WDDR-001 for the 2008-D JM $1 Picture for reference of $1 coin without the anomaly: What say you? Thanks. ~Rob
Hmm, that is the only marker of the doubled die? Looks it to me, but with only one picture to refer to... I can also see how a die chip could potentially form in this area, but for all I can tell, yeah this looks it. Let a Doubled Die lover come in and make a call. I am not an expert.
EDIT: .. oops the below is of the 2008P, not D. but yup, looks like you have the 2008 D one. But it also looks like your coin has some MD .. can we see the entire reverse ? can we see a picture of the ENTIRE reverse ? as per what you read, there are three reverse die markers (a) A die gouge can be found between the bottoms of the 1st A and the M in AMERICA. (b) A die gouge can be found south of the 1st T in STATES. (c) A die scratch runs WSW from the center left of the E in STATES.
well,I say, "sure why not?" no significant die markers to mention.... it's EXTREMELY minor though. I wonder if any TPG attributes it... Not that I think it's going to be worth the cost of grading, just wondering if it's something they'd bother with. your's looks good to me! 2008-D $1 JM WDDR-001 Description: Minor doubling shows at the intersection of the 2nd ray clockwise from the head and the right arm of the Statue of Liberty. Die Markers: Obverse: None significant. Reverse: None significant. Submitted By: Evan Goldfarb Cross References: None known
My microscope camera has too much magnification to show whole coin. Using my phone so lighting a challenge. Here are a few attempts: ~Rob
