I think the different varieties of the 2008 would have some interest from collectors. How much, I have no idea. There are 2 reverse proofs with different privy marks (low mintages), the standard BU (8 million struck) and the palladium plated (part of the Black Beauties Collection). I would think they have premium value to those that collect Canadian coinage. I've always found it a bit odd that U.S. collectors ignore Canadian coins.
I have to wholeheartedly agree with you. Every time I add a coin or two to my Canadian large cent set I feel like it was a bargain. Really only the 1856 will set you back much.
I have trouble enough with coins from the U.S. Why the added burden at looking at foreign coins too? I do have a friend that sent me quite a few Canadian coins a while back. I like the coins, and I have put them in some books to protect them. I haven't check to see if their are books available on Canadian coins. I guess now is as good as any to start another venue of coin collecting.
Nice coin!! Sure it's worth more than melt in my limited knowledge and opinion. I think I'll call on my good friend @Rick Stachowski for a better analysis.
It's a reverse proof yeah? I can't find mintage numbers on it. But I would imagine you'd have some premium. Not my cup of tea though.
