Yep! Die breaks occured in the cactus on this coin. I have no idea what they are worth though but there was a time when they were sold as you stated, extra cactus.
It's so difficult to quantify a dollar figure on something like this. The Minnesota extra trees for example aren't worth a whole lot, same with the DDO Wyoming. The radical types like the extra leaf Wisconsins and the DDR Washington D.C. examples are the exception.
