Does anyone have anything interesting to say about the American Bald Eagle Silver Dollar? I spotted one on EBAY and thought it looked very handsome. The coin has the eagle in flight on the obverse. The seller wants $50 for it and despite all the misgivings about EBAY I may by it.
Kitco has it up for about $44 dont know how good they are just spotted it on line, I do like the design of the coin but have never seen one in hand
I own these coins and are very nice. A plus is the coin and medal set has a NWR bronze medal. I purchased 2 silver Nat. Wldlf. eagle medals from mint and fits very nicely into this set. Though not coins, they are same composition as silver dollar coins. Never seen them for sale, don't know collectability.
$50...Raw...Proof or Uncirculated? Sounds okay to me for the proof... I don't know about raw... I think I'd like mine to be graded a 70 by NGC Although those 69's are nice too lol
I bought my set from the mint, and i think is was around $35. I havenet watched the prices in the secondary to see what they have done since. Take a look at the Ebay completed auctions - get an idea as to what sold items have sold for.... They are nice designs IMHO! I do like the images of the baby eaglets too
Thanks for all the information everyone. I always know when I have a questions that I can count on this forum. It seems that the secondary market is in at somewhere between $45 and $50. Still there don't seem to be a lot of them for sale out there. I bought the one with the eagle soaring on the coin more because of how handsome I thought it was than its value.
Glad to know you got it.. I've still yet to get mine, in proof or uncirculated, but I'm just waiting... Bigger fish to fry...
