    Spectacular!

    Yeah!

The eagle on the obverse of the silver dollar is ultra-cool. Will buy multiples.

The high mintage numbers are discouraging, but they really do look great.

I bet they are priced just in line with the LR coin and what ever the Columbus coin is called.

Are there any other coins with the eagle on both the obverse and reverse? It looks like a reverse design on both sides.

    gold commem

based on 4th spouse gold price. the $5.00 gold coin unc gold will cost $289.95 and proof $309.95. and the silver dollar will depend if the mint decided to increase 10% or not.

    jolamoe,

The Press Release states: "...sales, expected to begin on January 15, 2008..."

I am sure you have checked out the high resolution images of these coins, but in case you have not, please do so. They are awesome! We are lucky to have such talented designers, past & present, at the US Mint.

They are nice designs - I bet they sell out. I am going to order a couple. I assume they will have 2 and 3 piece sets?

This week's issue of CoinWorld announced that the 2008 Bald Eagle Commemoratives will be available for sale starting on January 15, 2008. At this time, pricing has still not been announced.

they should be priced $499 and then we will see if they sell out :D this whole sell out business is bad people need to be given time to buy these

I like these, but in 10 years they will be priced just like the 1986 Statue of Liberty coins.

    i like sellouts!

but when the mint has an issue of 1000 coins or sets, the allow a maximim of 20 per household... then when they have a maximum of 30,000 coins or sets, they set a maximum of 1 per houshold ...

    they REALLY confuse me!!!!
i like sellouts as long as the maximum per household is relevent to the maximum number of coins or sets - this allows a fair distribution of items!
