Hi guys, I have this 2008 P Alaska State Quarter and see that there are Die Chips on both the Obverse and the Reverse. I thought the most common Die Chips found on this quarter are primarily located on the Reverse? Is this uncommon to have both Die chips on the Reverse and the Obverse of the Alaska State Quarter? Particularly on Washington's lips?
@Rosalita Die chips can occur anywhere and at any time. There is no rhyme nor reason for their cause other than the fact that many of the dies are subjected to great stress having to produce tens of thousands of coins. Besides Alaska SQ's, you might want to look at California and Utah SQ's for die chips or Georgia SQ's for die cracks.
