2007d error?

Hello everyone,

This is my first "real" post here at CT. I was looking through some pocket change and found what seems to me would be a error coin. But I am not very educated on this topic. what do you think?

all that is showing of the year is the 200. though I can tell that it suppose to be a 2007. Is this pre or post mint?

Hi Gus, welcome. I believe this is caused when grease gets onto the die...and in this case it filled the 7 and prevented it from being fully struck. But let's see if someone else knows for sure.

Yes, you are correct.

Some people collect such items, and you could probably get $1.50 to $2.50 on ebay on a good day.
