2007 nickels

  1. Are the 2007 Jefferson nickels going to be the "classic design," or are they going to look like the 2006 "return to monticello?"

I think they will look like the return

Kendo is correct. As I understand it, the new obverse is supposed to continue on indefinitely.

    I agree with you crispy!

I am also really dislike how little relief the nickels (I guess all coins in general now) have. It can't take more than a couple of years for the design to be worn smooth...

They sure don't make 'em like they used to!

Is it just me, or does Jefferson look a bit like Frankenstein?:goofer:

  8. I like new coin designs, but I'm not too sure I'm gonna like "Frankenstein" Jefferson. It looks too cartoony for me. Just like I don't care too much for state quarters, because it reminds me of a token. I'm just afraid to see how they're gonna butcher the cent in 2009.

Hey what is wrong with a token?
They only have a token value at the store.

    ;)

It'l take more than a few years, I have yet to get a 2006 nickel in circulation.

If they're made the entire year then they could contain an average of eight cents worth of metal or so.

They might throw in the towel at any time.
