    Hi guys,

I have this 2007 P Montana State Quarter and would like to know what is happening with the Reverse of the quarter? Is this a strike thru grease?

A stain of some sort. Environmental damage.

Not a greaser as all the details are there. Definitely stained.

Just considered environmental toning/damage. It appears to be just a stain and nothing that came from the mint, like milk spots or such.

Could the stain have come from an improperly washed planchet?

No, that's not an improperly annealed or
washed planchet. It's stained, after it
    was in circulation.
