The 2007 Krause catalogue is now out.It has a black cover with a Sri Lankan 1993 Proof 500 Rupees medal-coin & a Southern Rhodesian 1932 2/-.There is a catch with the 2007 Krause. It now only lists coins from 1901 to 2000.There is a catalogue for 21st Century (2001 onwards) that will be coming out,but it won't be out until November. You can still order it by going to www.amazon.com .The Euro coins dated 1999 & 2000 are not even listed in the 1901-2000 catalogue.I reckon that it is stupid to list the 1999 & 2000 issues in the 21st Century catalogue. What do you think?

Eventually,I will be buying a set of catalogues, including the latest Pick, which is also out.

Just curious... how many of you "refresh" these books every year?

I picked up-- at "off price"-- a 2004 Krause book for 1900 and later. It works for what we want to do, which is identify and get a sense of the value of Thalia's entry level world coin collection.

I also bought the 2004 at a discount as it was 2 yrs. old when I bought it. It works well for me as I mainly use it to identify coins and get the general facts. I don't plan on buying a new one to replace it.
I might, however, buy the 21st century one, as my 2004 Krause doesn't list many of the post 2000 dates.

Some do it religiously, others do not. Myself, I buy the new editions of the older catalogs ( 1601 thru 1900 ) when they come out, but that's only every few years. For the 1901 to present catalog, I get a new one every 3 yrs or so.

I do. They're not that expensive and hopefully they've corrected the errors pointed out to them.

I list the old edition on eBay and more than once the selling price of it covered the cost of the new edition. :)

You can place your order for the new catalogues here; www.amazon.com .The postage from Germany is really cheap.

i bought both copies. i think the pricing is still using around $7.50 for silver. because when silver and gold prices started to jump upward. these books already prepared earlier to be print. remember they will always late in everything. example: a 2006 edition. you can only see up to 2004 or less.

    That's not entirely correct.

Their treatment in the 2007 20th Century of the countries adopting the Euro before 2001 is ridiculously erratic:
    • Austria's monetary system is described as "100 schillings=100 reichsmark" ([IMG])
    • France (and monetary sattelite Monaco), Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy (along with monetary sattelites San Marino and Vatican City), Luxembourg and the Netherlands are all listed with their now-abandoned traditional monetary systems, and no mention of Euros [IMG]
    • Belgium (p. 166), Finland (pp. 691-2), The Netherlands (p. 1366) and Spain (p. 1726) all have their monetary systems updated, and their Euros pictured and described. :D

I think what we have is the same kind of foulup in connection with a redo of their data base that resulted in the [IMG] 30th Ed. - just plain lack of internal communication.[IMG]
